President and Owner

Ronda Shrewsbury founded RealAmerica in 1995 with a passion to create more opportunities for affordable and attainable housing.

At RealAmerica, Ronda is hands-on in designing, developing, and managing her properties and teams. Although affordable housing is her primary focus, adaptive reuse, historic, senior independent living, self-storage, and commercial development properties are also included in the RealAmerica portfolio. Ronda leads the senior management team and creates strategic initiatives to utilize financing for more than $320M in real estate investments.

As a leader in the affordable housing industry, Ronda has received numerous awards and is a 4-time recipient of the IHCDA’s Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Urban Housing. In 2021, RealAmerica was awarded two Associated Builders and Contractors’ National Excellence awards for innovative and creative construction and architecture. Most recently, Ronda was named the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Woman of Influence for her dedication and commitment in providing quality affordable housing and better opportunities for people in all walks of life.

Ronda is an active leader and has been involved with many organizations. She currently utilizes her strengths in a leadership capacity for the Indiana Affordable Housing Council, the Young President’s Organization, the Indianapolis Zoo, and 1st Source Bank. In 2020, Ronda founded Legacy 25, a non-profit dedicated to developing and providing stable, affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.

A graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Finance/Real Estate, Ronda remains active in the Indianapolis and Hamilton County civic communities and enjoys travel, skiing, and time with family and friends.

Executive Vice President

As Executive Vice President of RealAmerica, Mike manages all development activity for RealAmerica’ projects, including Affordable Housing, Workforce/Attainable Housing, Market-Rate Housing, Self-Storage, and Commercial/Net-Leased and he and his team are responsible for identifying new development opportunities, site selection, financial analysis, preparing tax credit applications, local entitlements and incentives, structuring debt and equity, and working with service providers. Mike is involved in the entire project life cycle and works closely with RealAmerica’s Construction, Design, and Management teams through completion and stabilization. He loves finding new solutions for every project and working with cities and towns to create developments that impact their communities.

Mike has a wide range of expertise and experience. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Dayton, holds a National Standard General Contractor License, is a Certified Tax Credit Compliance Specialist, is a Real Estate Broker in Colorado and Illinois and is a member of Indy REAL.

He loves being active in his free time and can often be found playing tennis, hitting the ski slopes, or enjoying a round of golf. As a sports fan, Mike roots for the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts and enjoys staying active with his blue heeler, Stella.

Chief Financial Officer

Ryan McMonagle, MSA, CPA, brings his expertise to our Leadership Team as our Vice President of Accounting & Finance. He oversees RealAmerica’s Finance and Accounting Departments and is responsible for year-end reporting requirements, budget preparation, strategic planning, and building and managing third party relationships. He has past experience in the affordable housing industry as a public accountant with Dauby O’Connor & Zaleski and belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS), and is actively involved in the INCPAS Scholars Program.

Ryan graduated from Ball State University and was awarded the 3 under 30 Alumni Award, by the Paul W. Parkison Department of Accounting, in 2022. In his free-time, he loves to spend time with his wife, Katy, and his pup, Zoey.

Shawn Falls

Shawn Falls

Vice President of Construction

As our Vice President of Construction, Shawn oversees the complete building process of each of our new communities and ensures that his team completes each project with precision, integrity, and quality. Shawn graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Business Administration and Management.

Shawn brings a wealth of construction knowledge to the RealAmerica Team. With over 22 years of experience in the construction industry, ranging from hospitality, multi-family, residential, retail, restaurant, and light-industrial; Shawn brings a core value to each project: Relationships. His motto has always been, “We are building relationships amongst people. The building is a product of that relationship.”

Shawn is also a proud US Army Veteran and brings a host of valuable leadership skills from his military service. Once of his philosophies is, “Work the Problem!” He brings the understanding that there will always be problems in construction. Shawn and his team work hard every day to be proactive in their approach to this simple fact and strive to identify and prevent the most common issues from occurring, while “working the problem” when something new arises.

Shawn lives in Avon, IN with his wife, Jatara. They have a German Shepherd, named Glory, who allows them to share their home with her. They enjoy rooting for the Indianapolis Colts and the IU Hoosiers!

Michelle Clevenger

Vice President of Property Management

As Vice President of the Property Management team, Michelle brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise to RealAmerica. With over 24 years in the housing industry, she has served in multiple roles, including Multi-Site Property Manager, Yardi/Software Database Administrator, Human Resources, Regional Property Manager, and most recently, Regional Vice President.

Michelle’s hands-on approach enables her to understand the day-to-day challenges faced by front-line team members, providing support across various aspects of the housing industry. Her favorite aspect of leadership is the fulfillment she gets from developing team members at all levels. She often says, “I am only half as good as the team that works alongside of me,” underscoring her belief in the importance of providing her team with the tools and resources necessary for success.

Michelle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and holds numerous certifications in affordable housing, such as Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), and more.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys riding motorcycles, watching her children play sports, reading, cuddling with her three pets, traveling, and spending time with family. 

Anne Conway

Controller at RealAmerica

As an experienced senior accounting manager with a long history of working in the real estate industry, Anne brings her vast knowledge to the RealAmerica team.  As our Controller, she keeps detailed financial records, manages account reconciliation, and oversees daily accounting operations with exceptional accuracy.

Anne received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ball State University and is a licensed CPA.
