President and Owner

Ronda Shrewsbury

Ronda is the president and owner of RealAmerica, an integrated group of WBE-certified companies providing development, design, construction and property management of multifamily and commercial properties. Ronda’s passion for affordable housing drives the company to focus on opportunities that address housing needs with new construction, adaptive reuse, mixed use and historic rehab developments. In addition to providing strategic direction and oversight for each division of RealAmerica, Ronda holds an active Indiana Principal Brokers License and continues to build on her experience in land and office development as well.

A graduate of the Indiana University School of Business, Ronda serves as the past president of the Indiana Affordable Housing Council (IAHC) and serves on the boards of Near North Development Corporation, Young Presidents Organization (YPO), The Indianapolis Zoo and 1st Source Corporation. Ronda recently helped to start Legacy25, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to wrap-around support and services for affordable housing communities.

Chief Operating Officer

Melanie Reusze

Starting in 1995, Melanie’s career focused on tax credits for affordable housing. She holds multiple certifications associated with the low-income housing tax credit, housing development, and property management, and became a recognized leader in the field while working at the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. Melanie managed RealAmerica’s property management division before becoming COO. A graduate of Indiana University with a degree in public finance, Melanie is a licensed Real Estate Principal Broker.
Vice President of Development

Jeff Ryan

With a strong background in real estate investment and economic development since 1999, Jeff has led development in Indiana, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. His experience includes 9% tax credits, 4%/bond, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Federal Home Loan Bank’s Affordable Housing Program, NSP-3, historic tax credits, and Industrial Recovery Tax Credits. At Indiana University, Jeff majored in political science and also studied urban development planning.
Vice President of Construction

Tyler McKee

As a recognized authority in property and construction management, Tyler’s expertise includes lease-ups, state and federal inspections, multi-family, commercial, and storage development. He holds National Standard General Contractor and OSHA 30 certifications, as well as designations from the National Association of Home Builders of CAPS and HCCP. Tyler majored in risk management and insurance at Ball State University, with a minor in residential property management.
Director of Design

Bruce Berry

With more than 25 years of experience in single family, commercial, retail, mixed-use, and multi-family architecture, Bruce has completed affordable housing projects throughout the Midwest. His work includes Energy Star, National Green Building Standards, and Enterprise Green Communities-compliant projects. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Architecture/Bachelor of Science from Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning.
Director of Property Management

Anna Rankin

For more than 25 years, Anna’s work in the real estate industry has included local and regional property management, with a focus on lease-ups, state and federal inspections, and development of multi-family, commercial, and self-storage properties. As the Director of Property Management at RealAmerica, Anna brings focus, coordination, and leadership to management and maintenance issues throughout the company’s expanding portfolio. A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Anna also holds designations from HCCP and TaCCs.
Director of Compliance

Lisa McNabb

Lisa has worked in the affordable housing industry since 2000 and has managed tax credit compliance in multiple states. Her housing program experience also includes HOME, CDBG, NSP, and bond projects, and she holds HCCP, NCP, and COS designations. Known as a leader in the field, Lisa uses her expertise as a member of the IHCDA Working Group Committee and as a speaker on various panels at national housing conferences. Since joining RealAmerica in May 2013, Lisa has led the company’s Section 42 compliance team.
Controller

Ken Humphrey

With more than 30 years of real estate industry accounting experience in both public and privately held companies, Ken’s expertise includes financial reporting and analysis, accounting close processes, major transactions, and external audit/tax preparation. Ken’s commitment to a growth mindset and openness to possibility makes him a valuable business partner and industry leader. Ken received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Indiana University, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Development Associate

Mike Surak

With a background in multifamily and senior housing investment brokerage, Mike focuses on new development, rehabilitation, and acquisition opportunities at RealAmerica Development. In addition, Mike oversees commercial leasing and property sales for RealAmerica’s portfolio. Mike received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Dayton, holds a National Standard General Contractor certification, and is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois and Colorado.

Nancy Polley

Nancy has more than 40 years of experience in business administration, human resources, building management, and strategic planning. At RealAmerica, which she joined in September 2020, Nancy uses her expertise to organize and align the company for growth in each core business area. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University.
Marketing Manager

Stephanie Michael

Stephanie’s background includes experience in branding, media, marketing, and account management for major national and international brands. In addition to more than 15 years of marketing experience, Stephanie brings energy, teamwork, and creativity to her work. Aligning internal and external communications across RealAmerica’s four divisions, Stephanie coordinates outreach to serve communities and residents in every RealAmerica endeavor. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
